I taught a young guest the elements of quilting. I don’t know if she is still quilting, but she was a natural and her mom was very enthusiastic. It’s funny that this question comes up–a couple of days ago I thought about making her a small quilt kit and sending it off, then thought that might seem pushy. Maybe I’ll do it. So what if I seem pushy? What will I look like? “Too nice–sending a gift out of nowhere?”

I taught a young neighbour how to make 4 patches and how to focus on a 1/4″ seam allowance

I don’t make quilts but
I love sewing and have
taught a niece and couple
of great nieces to sew.

I’m teaching to a friend right now, and she will make her first bed size quilt! So proud of her!

I introduced quilting to a friend’s wife – she took to it like a duck to water!

I haven’t yet, but I am moving soon to be with my grandkids, and i’m hoping my granddaughter would like to learn. I have sewn with her before and I think she really enjoyed it.

Much to a brother-in-law’s chagrin, I got my sister involved in quilting and machine embroidery. She has built quite a stash and has easily surpassed me in finished projects. I’ve also gotten my daughter into quilting and helped her learn some of the important parts such as the dreaded quarter inch seam.

Last year I taught my daughter how to quilt. She picked out the pattern and the fat quarters as well. She did such a great job!

I’ve not taught anyone to quilt yet.

I would like to teach my daughter how to make quilts, but she doesn’t like to sew .

I have taught my friends. I also teach classes.

I had hoped to teach my daughter and daughter-in-law to quilt, but have not progressed beyond simple machine sewing yet.

I helped my neighbor make her first quilt, but she moved and we lost touch, so I don’t know if she continued quilting.

I attend a small sewing group so we help each other all the time

I’ve taught my husband, our daughter, and our daughter-in-law to quilt. My husband makes more quilts than I and since he retired, he’s making even more! Our daughter also loves to quilt, but has limited time right now. DIL took more to the crochet I taught her and loves to make afghans and baby blankets. I love sharing my knowledge of various crafts with anyone who wants to learn.

I hope to teach my grand children to quilt some day soon.

I taught both of my sons to sew and one of them has bought his own sewing machine and does some repair work occasionally I am told! No quilting so far!!

My one Daughter & I learned pretty much together..but my son’s daughter gets to spend alot of time with me..and has watched me sew since she was tiny.. She is learning to quilt..and has made 2 small Throw sizes so far..Excellent job too 😀 She has always made several pairs of fleece Jamma pants, & 2 Quillows from Fleece.

I haven’t taught any one to quilt yet. I tried to get some family members interested but didn’t succeed.

I have taught many and even do classes at guilds and quilt shops.

Yes, I taught my best friend and my mother to quilt. They were gung-ho in the beginning but gave it up but this was before machine quilting was so popular. I think they would have enjoyed learning that instead of hand quilting.The Sticks and Stones patterns are awesome and would make an awesome quilt.

Love seeing all the inspiration

I have taught several people to quilt including my mother and my daughter. We all love batiks, too.

I have taught several people to quilt. One is my sister and she is still quilting.

I taught my sister to quilt. It became the joy of her life! At her memorial I did a bed turning of all the quilts she made in her last 3 years of her life and it was amazing to see her talent blossom in such a short time-a much better quilter than me!

I’ve never taught anyone to quilt.

I taught a good friend how to quilt and she made a baby quilt for her daughter. She moved and to my knowledge she has not made another, but did enjoy the process and will hopefully pick it up again someday.

I haven’t taught anyone to sew or quilt, my daughter’s aren’t interested in sewing but they do like receiving the quilts I make for them.

I am teaching my 4 granddaughters how to quilt when they visit each summer. They look forward to making a quilt each year.

Several people thru the years have passed time in my sewing room or space. Quite a few have taken what I taught them and gone way beyond me in technique and precision…. But the biggest thing I hope I taught them is the joy of creating and making.

No, I have not taught anyone to quilt or sew. My daughter and friends have no interest, although they love to receive gifts of quilted projects!

I love working with the 10” squares. I’m not sure I’ve taught anyone to quilt but I’ve certainly inspired some of my friends. I would teach them how to make snap bags and a few shortcuts in making quilt squares.

I taught my sister to quilt many years age and she is still busy quilting today!

I’ve been teaching my granddaughter to quilt. So far she has made a doll quilt and some zip pouches (with a little help from me with the zippers. Thanks for the fun blog hop!

I have taught some techniques of sewing to my daughter and to others who wanted to learn to quilt. I love to Free motion Quilt but am getting so much better at piecing that I write a monthly article on my favorite ruler for our guild.

My local quilt shop asked me to teach a class years ago and I’ve been teaching ever since. My specialty is quilt-as-you-go.

I am watching a lot of youtube videos, so many facebook accounts, and Instagram, and books. Starting this process about a year ago. Love everything about it. I enjoy watching Pat Sloan, too.

These are so pretty!! I love seeing how everyone used the tool!!

Love the textile affect of sticks and stones and the quality of quality fabrics! All these ambassadors sharing their creativity with island batik and the try a toll with all the other bonuses are gabulous, thank you for sharing and hosting these. I’ve been quilting about 40 years and am lucky and blessed to have shared my craft with many friends and family along the way, even with my now 16 year old grand daughter.
