We’ve wrapped up the first week of Island Batik Ambassador Pieced to Perfection Blog Hop, and it’s been sew much fun! Whether you’ve been following along or just joining in, we want you to have a second look at all of the amazing quilts we’ve shared this week. Get ready for some paper-piecing magic!

I really want to try paper piecing but haven’t so far.

Yes. I have used paper piecing to make pot holders, ornaments, and a dog quilt for my daughter’s little dog.

Yes I have paper pieced, for a dresden rooster, and several Mariner’s Compass wall hangings. One Mariner’s Compass was a birthday gift for my 91 year old friend. He died shortly after this, and the wall hanging was donated to the Felixstowe Maritime Museum where Walter was based in WW2.

I have paper pieced one time on the Farmer’s Wife quilt along. I loved the results, but I didn’t love having to think upside down and backwards haha! Thanks for the chance!

I have tried paper piecing and have a love hate relationship with it. I love the accuracy but hate the paper cleanup. It also offers the ability to create different patterns easily. Loving what the ambassadors have done so far!

Yes, have definitely tried paper piecing. Love the results. Not a huge fan of how much wasted fabric there can be.

I tried paper piecing once, just to say that I tried it! It worked out really well and I do plan on doing more pp but get distracted by all the other patterns & types of sewing out there!

I tried FPP for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. Love the colours of this bundle

Yes, I found paper piecing several years ago and most of my quilts are now paper pieced. I love how precise they are. And I only use batik fabrics because they are tightly woven which prevent fraying of the 1/4 inch seams. Island Batiks are at the top of my list and have the most beautiful colors and designs.

I designed a 2″ x 3″ dragonfly block for my first paper piecing project. It turned out great and I was hooked.
