Love using batiks in my projects – always inspired by seasonal colors and motifs!

I look at picking one designers line and the size of the print for what I want to make.

I choose fabrics and patterns by matching them to the person for whom I am making a project.

Either by the character and personality of the recipient or execution of a concept.

The new batiks are amazing! I scour blogs and magazine for designs and then shop my stash or local quilt stores for just the right fabrics. My go to fabrics and the majority of my stash are batik fabrics. I love the colors and the amazing designs.

It varies all the time. I sometimes see a project that I love and go to my stash and see what works. Sometimes I buy fabric because I love it and then decide later what to do with it!

I choose a design based on who I will be giving the project to, then I choose fabrics that will best goes with the design.

I have a long list of things I want to make. Usually, I see something, fall in love and start making it, with the list goes out the window! I love scrappy, the more the merrier so I pull from stash, primarily.

Sometimes I see a pattern I like in a magazine. Then I look through my fabrics and see if I have something that will work. Occasionally I see fabric which “speaks to me” and then I look for a project to use it

I love working with batik fabrics. So much color in each line that I love to mix them together. So many quilts to make. 🙂

I see thing on social media that I and I choose similar fabrics and patterns, Thanks for this beautiful and inspiring blog hop!

I find a pattern I like then pick out fabric.

I choose a design based on who I will be gifting the item, then I choose fabrics that look great together.

I choose a focus fabric then pick coordinating fabrics to go with it.

I love really scrappy quilts so when I see one I like, then I choose as many scraps as I can to make it. Thanks for an awesome blog hop.

I have a stash of patterns and a big file of patterns. Wonderful when the two meet!

I gravitate toward quilt patterns that are not one-block designs. After choosing, fabric choices and colors can take hours. Collections and precuts make life !

Thank you for this post! I have made this bag before and I appreciated your list of modifications. I’m going to use some of your ideas when I make another one. I love the way that you used multiple prints! Your bag is gorgeous and so are your photos. The critters are such fun!
