Poets and artists have been influenced by nature’s powerful beauty for centuries. This month, we challenged our team of Island Batik Ambassadors to take a closer look at this endless source of inspiration and create a quilt project.

During the next three weeks of the Inspired by Nature Blog Hop, our amazing team of twenty-five Ambassadors will be sharing their fabulous projects made with new Island Batik collections they received in their second Island Batik Ambassador box! We hope that you will follow along to see their amazing quilts, reminiscent of the elements of nature that move them the most!

Every Friday we will be posting round-ups of the projects and give away two Fat Quarter bundles of the new Island Batik collections, featured during that week. Be sure to visit all the incredible Ambassadors’ blogs to discover their inspiring creations and participate in their bonus giveaways!

Beautiful colors in nature

I miss being outside as much since the pandemic started. Nature inspires my creativity as well as helping with mental health. Lovely fabrics!!

The gorgeous colors in nature – especially sunsets and oceans – are always inspiring.

I would say that I get most of my inspiration from quilting blogs. I sit down with a cup of coffee and see what others have been working on. It would be great to win some gorgeous batiks!!

Blogs hops give me most of my inspiration. I love following the Island Batik blog hops and seeing all of the great projects made with each new line of batiks.

Seeing pictures of quilts or fabric in magazines or online or especially quilt shows inspires me.

The first person to inspire me was my grandma. Then friends thru 4-H. Then in high school Home Ec. Then thru local quilt shop and Quilt Guild.

I get inspired by all the beautiful things that the Island Batik ambassadors make. I follow them all. Thanks for your wonderful blog hops!

So many things inspire me! Sometimes it’s a pile of scraps, a flower in nature, a blog post of a fellow quilter and once in a while, I dream during my sleep of a new creation!

I am inspired by designs that I see in my yard and neighborhood. The changing colors of our maple trees and the plants and bushes that are transitioning into fall and winter are so beautiful, I can always find good ideas there.

Bliss is my favorite out of these. I am loving the move to a tropical climate and the change in wildlife and flora in the new location. I love taking walks with my dogs to get into the creative spirit. Breathing fresh air and enjoying the work of Mother Nature.

Inspiration can come from anything or anywhere. I take lots of photographs, so when I need inspiration I review my photos. Sometimes it is location, or the object of the photo, or sometimes the colors of the photo can spark inspiration. Batiks are my favorite fabrics to work with. The colors always make me smile. lovely fabric inspires ideas for me…

I’m heavily inspired by colors in nature.

Batiks and certain quilt patterns inspire me! It’s always exciting to get a new collection of batiks; I just have to find a pattern that fits so I can start the new project right away. On the other hand, I am sometimes inspired by a specific quilt pattern and already have a colorway or fabric collection in mind to suit it perfectly.
