She attended the University of Denver earning her BS in Biology and furthered her education at the University of Utah completing her Master’s Degree in Nutrition. Her future plans include working in the health and nutrition industry. Megan is a coffee achiever who also loves to cook. When she is not training, you can usually find her in the kitchen trying out new recipes.
Walter Schafer was born in Denver, Colorado and currently resides in South Bend, Indiana. He attended Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, majoring in Marketing. In his off-training time he enjoys rock climbing and wakesurfing.
Kurt McDonald was born in Victoria, Australia and currently lives in Geelong. He studies science and business management at Deakin University. Besides being a professional triathlete, Kurt has his own luxury lifestyle apparel brand. Kurt also models for the company.
To be an elite athlete takes many things including commitment, dedication, tenacity, and something that is not solely from the athlete themselves: support. Please be a part of the Island Batik team as we support these amazing athletes on their journey to reach gold! It is not only about race day but everyday!
